Reed was bound to break as he kept details about his mother's death close to his chest. He didn't want to linger on the thought of her, thinking in the back of his mind how he didn't protect her against herself and ultimately caused what happened. Now that the music wasn't pumping in his ears, the sound of his heart racing did and he couldn't calm himself down.

The shrill voice entered into his peripheral once more and he scoffed, "jesus fucking christ lady, I'm fine." Reed didn't need to explain himself to some old hag on the choices he had made in his life. He was prepared to take care of himself just like he had done before over and over again. Fingernails dug crescent moons into his palms as he attempted to hold himself back, "do you think you're my fucking mom or something?"

His eyes flickered to the bouncer, a man he didn't want to fuck with tonight and finally gave him, "fine," he took a seat as he glared back at her, "I'm sitting."

“Oh.. okay.” Daphne held up her hands and took a step back, signaling a surrender. She wasn’t about to get into an argument; not when he was clearly reacting to a combination of what she could assume was alcohol and maybe drugs?

As a mother, she couldn’t leave him alone like that. Downing the last of her drink she waited a few beats before slipping out after the kid, keeping her eyes on him as she lingered in the distant shadows.

US president-elect Donald Trump has appointed venture capitalist and former PayPal executive David Sacks as White House AI & Crypto Czar, a newly created role meant to establish the country as the global leader in both fields.

Like Musk, Sacks was a vocal proponent of Trump during the presidential race. In an X post in June, he laid out his very Silicon Valley rationale: “The voters have experienced four years of President Trump and four years of President Biden. In tech, we call this an A/B test,” he wrote. “With respect to economic policy, foreign policy, border policy, and legal fairness, Trump performed better. He is the President who deserves a second term.”

That same month, Sacks hosted an exclusive fundraiser for the Trump campaign, reportedly generating as much as $12 million. In the weeks since Trump won back the Oval Office, crypto markets have been on a tear.
